Cookie Policy

On this page we (The Essex Group) explain what cookies are and how they are used on this website.

What are Cookies

A cookie is a very small encrypted text file that can be placed by a website in a computer or any other internet enabled device when visited, if the user agrees.  They allow the website to recognise your device and remember if you’ve been to the website before.  Most websites use cookies as they cannot function effectively without them.

Further reading about what cookies are can be found here at

What do we use Cookies for?

We use cookies to recognise when you have returned to our website.

As mentioned previously, cookies allow websites to recognise you when you return to a website.  For example if you place an item into the basket on our website and then close your browser, when you return to our website the item will still be in your basket as our website has recognised you from the cookie.  If you had disabled cookies, when you return to the website your basket will be empty as our website will not have recognised you as there is no cookie.  If you look at the list of cookies below the cookie that does this is called “Persistent_shopping_cart”.

We also use cookies to help us see what pages of our website you are navigating to and we use Google Analytics for this information.  We use this to help us improve our site so that you as the user find it easy to navigate to the products you want.  Below you will find a list of all cookies that are used on our site and here is a link to all of the cookies used by Google Analytics
