The Essex Group have worked with the Bexleyheath Academy many times over the years on a wide range of projects. We were delighted to be the chosen supplier for a rather larger order placed directly through our updated website by Principal Graeme Napier, as part of their latest school refurbishment program. Their experience of working with us in the past led them to us again.

Principal Napier explained his reason for choosing our company to fulfil this order was the competitive pricing of our furniture ranges, that he knew from previous experience to be both robust and also to have an eco-friendly element. Our Titan branded furniture is made from predominately plastic and steel that met the academy requirements perfectly for budget and the ability to be fully recyclable whilst being robust to meet the demands of daily student life.

The initial online order was simply to supply and deliver the furniture. However, the project was for such a high value and volume of equipment, we offered to build the furniture for the academy. An offer that was gladly accepted by Principal Napier as this ensured smoother running of the project by allowing the academy refurbishment team the task of simply installing the furniture into the relevant class room as new teaching block refurbishment progressed.

In order to facilitate the space and requirements of the academy the order was split into several loads for delivery.

The furniture was all unwrapped by our team of three fitters over the course of a day, and this allowed us to ensure that all packaging was removed safely from the site without disruption to the project or the students. We were then able to arrange for suitable recycling of the packaging materials where possible.

Our multiple deliveries ensured that the 340 class room tables, 500 one piece Titan chairs, 480 Titan sled based stools and 19 Outdoor tables all arrived without damage and were unpacked ready for the refurbishment team to meet their schedule.

Over the course of the day, as well as the mass of unpacking that was required, the 340 Titan swivel chairs with glides were to be assembled. Our team of three fitters worked tidily and tirelessly on this task, which required the gas lift and 5 star bases to be attached and then finish by attaching the glides. The chairs were then stacked into a holding room ready for their distribution when required by the academy.
